The Cadet Division was formed August of 2003. It was part of the Kids Division prior to this time. 

The focus of this division is to prepare Oregon wrestlers to be successful at the state, regional, and national levels.

The Cadet State Tournament and the USA Wrestling National Cadet Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota is the responsibility of this division.

The Cadet State Tournament is one of the qualifiers for the National Tournament.  The top two wrestlers at the Cadet State Tournament qualify for nationals and everyone else may petition.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION  

Cadets may also qualify at NW Regional by placing in the top three. However, to participate at nationals you must be a part of the Oregon Cadet National Team.  If you were a regional qualifier and plan to go to nationals you must contact the Cadet Director to be placed on the team. 

This division is trying to unify wrestlers into a system that will help meet the goals of the division.  We have started to coordinate with the coaches division to have regional training sites to help get wrestlers with workout partners and to prepare in the same fashion as each individual strives to better themselves and wrestling in the state of Oregon.  More information as to dates, times, and places can be on the OWA Event Schedule.
